Police closed down an illegal rave at Stewartby brickworks at the weekend, seized equipment and arrested two people.
Officers were called to the rave at Green Lane, Stewartby at 7.30am on Sunday, November 2, and found between 100 and 150 people attending the illegal rave.
They seized turntables, other sound equipment and generators. Two people were arrested for drunkenness and the details of cars attending were noted for future action against their drivers and owners. Police are working with the site owners to ensure security on the site is improved.
Inspector Russell Glenister said: “We are taking positive police action against these illegal raves and are currently conducting an investigation to prosecute the organisers of this event. We were aware of it earlier but because of the dangerous nature of the site to protect the safety of those attending and our officers waited until daylight before we moved onto the site.”
