Police appeal after gun shots were fired near London Road, Bedford

Police are investigating reports of gun shots fired at a property in Coombs Close, Bedford, last week.

The incident happened around 12.15am on Thursday (March 23 ) with officers rerporting damage to the door of a property, which is believed to have been caused by a firearms discharge. Fortunately no-one was injured.

Detective Constable Pawan Nahar, investigating, said: “This has been a frightening and highly stressful experience for the occupants. We’d like to reassure the public that we are carrying out a thorough investigation and we absolutely will not tolerate gun crime in our community.

“I’m appealing for anyone with information or knowledge of the people involved to come forward. If you witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Fenlake and London Road on Wednesday evening or the early hours of Thursday morning I urge you to get in touch.”
