Local painter and illustrator, Alasdair Bright, was the guest of honour at an art exhibition held at Pilgrims Pre Preparatory School in Bedford during May.

Well known for his work in the community, Alasdair was recently commissioned by the school as part of its 15-year anniversary celebrations to produce three paintings to reflect the summer, autumn and winter terms.

At the exhibition, Alasdair was able to view individual works of art created by children from Little Pilgrims, the nursery and older children in the school. Each piece of artwork reflected the theme ‘celebration’.

Alasdair said: “The children have obviously had great fun producing their paintings – they’ve been able to express themselves really well. It’s wonderful to see creativity being so actively encouraged at such a young age.”

Within the next 12 months, Alasdair’s specially commissioned paintings will be placed on display in the school’s main entrance.
