A gun wielding robber threatened a Bedford pharmacy worker and ordered the terrified victim to hand over money from the till.

The thief entered Wilstead Pharmacy carrying a plastic bag, which the staff member believed contained a handgun on Wednesday (October 29) at around 5.15pm.

While the crook went inside the Church Road business and pointed the gun at the worker, his accomplice stood beside the automatic doors to keep them open.

After taking money the pair fled and are believed to have got into a waiting car - possibly a black Vauxhall Astra.

The man with the gun is described as an Asian or mixed race man, over 6ft tall and aged in his mid 20s. He was wearing a black quilted jacket with the hood pulled up and a scarf around his face, along with blue jeans, white trainers and sunglasses.

The other man was slightly shorter, also aged in his mid 20s and wearing dark clothing.
