Business chiefs have launched a new phone ‘app’ to give shoppers an even better experience when they spend their money in Bedford town centre.

The Bedford Town Guide app covers everything from special offers to information on places to park, eat or stay overnight, plus it features Twitter and Facebook links to local businesses.

And it is free to download on your smart phone.

A spokesman for the BedfordBID, which represents businesses across Bedford town centre, said: “Smartphones are already accounting for over half the mobile phones being purchased in the UK today and this is set to increase in numbers.

“Soon the majority of shoppers will have a Smartphone in their pocket and this application gives us the opportunity to communicate with them and bring them into the heart of the town centre.”
