It’s a family affair at a newly refurbished riverside pub.

The Horse and Groom at Clapham has been given a makeover and opened its doors on Sunday under new owners.

At the helm are husband and wife duo Karen and Richard Bray along with son Daniel Turner and daughter-in-law Narelle Turner.

The quartet already own two other pubs - The Narrowboat at Weedon and The Bull Inn at Olney.

Refurbishment at The Horse and Groom - a historic former coach inn set alongside the River Great Ouse - took around eight weeks.

“We had an interior designer sympathetically give the pub an uplift while keeping the original features,” said Karen.

AA Rosette winning Daniel is in charge of food across all three pubs and is currently based at the Horse and Groom to oversee his newly penned menu.

“We make sure all our food is fresh, nothing is frozen,” said Karen.

“Our menu caters for everybody from ham, egg and chips to a beautiful gourmet meal on a Friday and Saturday night, when people can get dressed up and come out for dinner.

“We also do afternoon tea and champagne afternoon tea by the river.

“We hope to cater for everybody, from young families right through to older people.”
