Upmarket grocers Marks and Spencer will create 60 new jobs in Bedford with the opening of a new food hall at the end of the month.
The 9,000 sq ft food store will include a bakery and 50 seat cafe at the town’s Interchange Retail Park in Riley Way.
Store manager Brendon Kelly said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing the very best of M&S food to Bedford next month.
“We’re confident that our high quality offering will appeal to locals, as well as those in the surrounding areas, and think that the store is a great addition to Interchange Retail Park. I’m looking forward to welcoming customers when we open our doors at 10am on Wednesday, September 30.”
The new store will be open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
