If you like browsing car boots at the weekend there’s one to visit that is raising funds to help a Bedford football enthusiasts.
Every month during the soccer season, a hardy bunch of volunteers open the doors to a busy car boot held at Bedford Town Football Club.
Run by and for the Supporters Club, the sales days are held on the first Sunday of each month, with the next being this week, November 2.
Club treasurer Gerry Edmunds is among the committee members who organise the events which attract stallholders and buyers from far and wide, with lots of bargains to tempt you to part with the cash.
She said: “There are all sorts of items for sale, a lot of children’s clothings, plants, bric-a-brac and seasonal goods.
“Our Christmas car boot on December 7 will have a lot of festive things to buy.”
Running for the last four years, the car boot runs successfully throughout the winter months as it offers both indoor and outdoor selling space, and plenty of parking.
Gerry added: “Car boot people are a quite a hardy lot and they come in all weather.”
There’s a fine choice of Sunday brunches too at the refreshment area run by the supporters club volunteers.
Tuck into sausage, bacon and egg rolls, from a selection of other snacks on the menu, along with coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Stalls are £6 and the car boot opens at 10am and runs until about 1.30-2pm.
For buyers, the car boot team help by supplying the tables - so all you need to do is turn up with the goods!
The sales are held at Bedford Town Football Club ground at Meadow Lane, Bedford, MK44 3SB, signed off the A603 Bedford to Sandy road.
