Man trapped for an hour in car smash

Man in his 30s taken to Addenbrookes in a serious but stable condition

A man is in a serious but stable condition after being trapped for an hour when his car came off the road.

The accident, in which the man in his 30s rolled his car into a field, happened at 10.30am on Tuesday, at Cranfield Road near Cranfield.

The accident did not involve any other car and there were no passengers in the man's vehicle.

The Magpas emergency medical team attended the scene and helped deliver emergency pain relief to the trapped man.

He was later transported to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance.

A spokesman for Magpas, which is an emergency medical charity, said: "All the emergency services worked well together.

"It is essential that expert medical care from the Magpas charity's team is on hand to make sure the patient receives the right treatment

at the scene and is then transfered to the right hospital for the type of injuries sustained."
