Man in critical condition

Police are urgently looking for witnesses after a man is fighting for his life in hospital

The 26-year-old Polish man was found lying in a lay-by outside the superstore in Cardington Road at 7.55pm on Saturday with severe head injuries.

He had been seen buying goods in he store prior to the incident and had left Tesco at 7.41pm.

He is now being treated at Addenbrookes Hospital and is in a critical condition.

Police are looking for witnesses or enyone who might know what happened to the man.

And in particular they are looking for a woman who stopped to help, but left before giving her details to the ambulance crew.

The victim who lives at Grosvenor Street, Bedford. is described as a white man, with short brown hair.

He was wearing a white t-shirt with the Everlast logo and combat trousers. He was carrying a Tesco bag and jacket.

He also had a protective clingfilm wrap on his arm where he had recently had a tattoo done.

Bedfordshire Police are appealing for people who may have seen the incdient or have any information, to come forward.
