Man arrested on suspicion of James' murder

19-year-old taken from Sandy to Greyfriars police station in Bedford for questioning.

A 19-year-old man was arrested in Sandy on Wednesday afternoon and taken to Greyfriars police station in Bedford for questioning on suspicion of the murder of James Latimer.

Mr Latimer, of Dearne Walk, Brickhill, died from severe head injuries after he stepped in to stop a fight between a friend and another man outside the Subwich takeaway in Midland Road, Bedford, at 3.17am on Sunday.

The 22-year-old was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, in Cambridge, where he died on Monday.

Two men were arrested in connection with the enquiry on Monday but were released on police bail pending further enquiries the following day.
