A man has been robbed at knifepoint in an alleyway in Bedford.

The attack happened at about 10.50pm on Wednesday, January 7, when the 53-year-old man was walking home alone through an alleyway which leads from Polhill Avenue to Caves Lane.

He was approached by two men and one of them threatened him with a knife while the other searched his pockets and stole his Manchester United wallet with the red devil logo on the front.

One of the offenders is described as black, in his late 30s, 5’10’’ and stocky. He was wearing a black beanie hat, dark jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms. The other was described as mixed race, in his late 20s and slim. He was also wearing dark clothing and a black beanie hat. Both spoke with London accents.

Detective Constable Jason Wheeler, investigating, said: “I would be interested in speaking with anybody who may have seen these two suspects or anyone who may have found the distinctive wallet in the area.”
