Man robbed after leaving rail station in Bedford

A man was robbed by three men as he walked home in Bedford after leaving the rail station.

The victim was walking along Ashburnham Road after getting off a train shortly before 10pm on Saturday, 3 January, when he was approached by three men who asked him for a cigarette.

When he refused he was assaulted and had his wallet stolen.

The offenders made off towards Clapham Road.

PC Maureen Ude, investigating, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw the robbery, or where the offenders went afterwards, to call police.”
