Man due in court over terrorism-related offences

A man is due to appear in court today (Wednesday) charged with terrorism-related offences.

Naseer Mirza Taj, 25, of Bedford, has been charged with two counts of possessing electronic files which could be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism and a charge relating to identity documents.

He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The investigation is being carried out by officers from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire counter terrorism and domestic extremism unit and the eastern counter terrorism investigation unit.
