Man dies in street after suffering cardiac arrest

A man collapsed and died in Kempston on Tuesday morning.

Ambulance crews reached the man in under four minutes after being called at 8.15am but were unable to save him.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “A rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer and East Anglian Air Ambulance attended after the patient went into cardiac arrest and was unconscious and not breathing.”

He was treated at the scene in Elstow Road but despite the best efforts of paramedics he was pronounced dead.
