Man dies after being hit by train near Flitwick

A person was hit by a train at lunchtime today, Thursday, April 17, on the line near Flitwick Train Station.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “A man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

First Capital Connect said in an official tweet: “We’re currently trying to source buses to run between Luton and Bedford.”

A First Capital Connect spokesperson said: “At about 12.30pm a person was hit by an East Midlands Train between Flitwick and Bedford.

“The British Transport Police and other emergency services are on site.

“Only one of the four lines is blocked.

“Rail replacement buses will run between Luton and Bedford, calling at all stations. We apologise for the inconvenience.”
