A man suffered a serious leg injury during a road rage attack on Monday.

The incident took place at around 3.20pm following a disagreement between two drivers in Victoria Road at the junction with Endersleigh Road, Bedford.

After an argument, the offender assaulted the victim with a steering wheel lock shaped like a baseball bat.

The victim suffered a serious injury to his leg and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Amanda Durrant said: “This was a disagreement about driving which resulted in a very serious and nasty assault.

“We know this horrific attack was witnessed by members of the public, some of who asked the offender – who was driving a blue Ford Focus – to leave.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the incident, and would urge them to come forward.”

Anyone with any information should call DC Durrant at Bedfordshire Police on 101, text information to 07786 200 011 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
