Man and boy assaulted on way to school in Goldington

A man and his son were verbally abused and assaulted in Goldington as they walked to school.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 36-year-old man and his seven-year-old son were verbally abused and assaulted in a Bedford street on Friday, July 4.

The incident happened at around 8.40am as the victim was walking his son to school along Church Lane, Bedford. The pair were followed by the offender – a white woman in her late 30s – who hurled a torrent of verbal abuse at the victim before slapping him around the face.

The offender then went to hit the man a second time but missed and hit the young boy instead. The victim and his son then left the area and called the police.
