100 per cent of Central Bedfordshire’s children will be going to their chosen secondary school - Central Beds Council has revealed.

And 98 per cent of pupils will go to their chosen Upper School, when the new academic year starts in September.

The council’s admissions team allocated a total of 2,881 places at schools across the area with almost every single pupil getting a place at their first preference school or academy.

An impressive 87 per cent of parents and carers, applied via our website, taking advantage of our time saving online application facility.

Councillor Mark Versallion, executive member for children’s services, said: “Starting upper or secondary School is an important step on the educational journey for all our young people, so it’s fantastic that so many of them got places at the schools they wanted to go to.

“I am confident that with our support, and that of their families and schools, they will be able to reach their academic potential and get great results.”
