Helicopter medics were scambled to Bedford after the emergency services were called to help a man with chest injuries.

Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance landed in a school playing field in central Bedford at 5.04pm on Friday (November 7), allowing Helimedix Coctor Nick Scott and Dan Read to rush to the scene, where a man in his 20s had suffered injuries to his chest.

The Magpas team assessed the patient and administered pain relief, working alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew at the scene.

The man was then taken to Bedford Hospital by land ambulance, in a stable condition, for further observation.

The helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Andy Craigie.

A Magpas spokesman said: “All the emergency services worked extremely well together.”
