A year on from a nine-hour operation to remove a brain tumour, fundraiser extraordinaire Daniel Guerin decided to shave his head.

Daniel, who hopes to beat last year’s effort of raising more than £10,000 for The Brain Tumour Charity, marked the anniversary of his “big operation” by losing his newly-grown locks for sponsorship.

The staff at Jagged Edge hairdressers, Kempston, did their worst with the clippers, then made an additional donation to match the £500 he raised with the stunt.

Daniel, from Wootton, said: “We raised £1,000 for the charity.

“I would like to say a big thank you to Jagged Edge and all those who have supported me.”

The cash kept on rolling in as Daniel also hosted an Easter event at The Cock Inn, Wootton, which raised a further £726.16.

The 24-year-old has a full diary of events planned for the rest of the year, including a charity golf day at Pavenham Park Golf Club, on Saturday, May 2.

The match will be a Texas Scramble with the first tee off at 1pm, after bacon butties.
