Bedford Town win U13 competition
Two junior football teams from Bedford enjoyed a successful weekend at the inaugural six-a-side Puma Cup hosted by Stevenage Borough.
Bedford Town FC U13s won all six of their games to top their group, netting 27 goals in the process.
They then triumphed in the final against Hitchin Town 4-1, thanks to strikes from Ashley Windridge, Haroun Ouaguena and two from Michael Richens.
Bedford FC U11s also reached the final of their respective age group only to suffer an unfortunate defeat to Crawley Green.
They had earlier won four of their six group games, before
coming unstuck against some excellent goalkeeping in the decisive match.
