Wow is certainly the word to describe a new waffle and wine bar that has opened in the town.
The new cafe, aptly named WOW - Waffles Or Wine, has been trading for over a month, but relaunched this weekend with new menu items.
The new business, owned by Tristan Haynes, is located underneath Asia Lounge in the High Street and is the only place in Bedford to offer specially-made bread dough waffles, which are imported directly from Belgium.
And it is not just sticking to waffles. It is offering high quality Illy coffee for just £1.50 a cup, as well as paninis.
To celebrate its relaunch at the weekend the new business invited the Times & Citizen down to test out their waffles – and we definitely recommend giving them a try.
The waffles come in either raspberry, white chocolate or cinnamon flavour. And for added sweet heaven you can also opt for chocolate oozing out the middle - a taste sensation if we do say ourselves. And for only £2 it is a bargain.
Assistant manager Oliver Jones said: “We are trying to offer something completely different here. We have now started doing paninis using really high-end quality ingredients. In the next month or so we are also planning to get a late licence and we are hoping to be a cocktail and wine bar too.”
It also hopes to serve a continental breakfast soon.
