Woman punched robber in face in Shortstown

A WOMAN was grabbed around her neck and received a cut to her face when a man attempted to rob her last week.

The victim was walking home from a cash point along North Drive in Shortstown about 11.50pm on Friday (June 22) when the man grabbed her and tried to push her into the bushes.

He then demanded money and tried to remove jewellery from her fingers and neck. The woman punched him in the face and ran home.

The man was a white male, aged about 30, of big, stocky build, and about 5ft 10ins tall, with short cut spiky hair.
