Kimbolton Road was closed on Friday after a two car collision left an elderly woman trapped inside her car.

The incident happened at the junction with Polhill Avenue at around 5.12pm and police were called to the scene by ambulance crews who were already there.

Fire crews also attended the incident and two people, both of those travelling in a green Ford Ka were taken to Bedford Hospital. Both driver and passenger suffered minor injuries but the driver had to be removed from the vehicle by fire crews.

Those travelling in the second car, a beige Skoda Octavia escaped uninjured.

During the incident police closed that part of Kimbolton Road and remained at the scene to control traffic and carry out an investigation. No further action has been taken against those involved in the collision.
