To celebrate the UK’s biggest day of volunteering Bedford Borough Council is offering a week of volunteering opportunities for people of all ages.

Charity Community Service Volunteers (CSV) is holding the national Make A Difference Day on Saturday, and the week-long celebration of volunteering in Bedford includes 13 different events that anyone can take part in.

These opportunities range from park conservation tasks to daffodil bulb planting, painting projects and litter picking.

Bedford Borough Council’s Pride in Bedford team will be helping to launch the week of events with a litter pick in Wootton on Saturday.

The public event runs from 10am-midday and volunteers are asked to meet at the Recreation Ground car park in Church Road

All volunteers are also asked to make their hairstyle as crazy as possible with the chance to win prizes.

Equipment is provided at all events and no experience is needed.
