Is there someone in your community who deserves praise for their bravery?
Our Pride in Bedfordshire 2013 awards has a special category for Outstanding Example of Bravery - and we want to ensure it goes to a worthy winner.
This could be an individual - or group - who have overcome adversity in their life.
They may have help saved the life of another, or have voluntarily prevented a negative situation from getting out of hand.
In 2012 the prize was presented to a brave policeman, PC Thomas Dobinson, who risked his life to save an autistic man who jumped off Bedford Town Bridge.
So we need your help by nominating somebody equally deserving for the 2013 award!
This year it is being sponsored for the first time by Stanair Industrial Door Services.
You can nominate someone online.
You will find full details of the Outstanding Example of Bravery award - and all the Pride in Bedfordshire categories - at our website at www.bedfordtoday.co.uk. Click on the Premier Events tab on the home page.
Alternatively you can post your nomination, telling us about your special person (300 to 500 words) and in one sentence why you think they should win the award.
Remember to include both your name and contact details, and also the name and contact details of the person or people you are nominating.
Postal nominations should be sent to Pride In Bedfordshire, c/o Northants Newspapers, Newspaper House, Ise Park, Rothwell Road, Kettering, Northants NN16 8GA.
The closing date for entries is Friday, November 1.
The awards will be presented at a gala event at the Bedford Corn Exchange on Thursday, November 28.
It’s sure to be a fantastic night celebrating all that is best about our area.
Tickets are £25 for adults and £15.50 for 12 and under.
This year Jennie McAlpine (Fiz from Coronation Street) will be hosting the awards presentation.
