A very fiery parcel arrived through our letterbox this week - bearing a note with a very serious challenge.
Frosts garden centre in Willington had challenged the T&C team to play Chilli Roulette - the film Deer Hunter sprung to mind - but who were we to turn down such an offer?
The rules of the game were simple - pick a number and eat the chocolate which corresponds with that number.
The kicker is that one of the delicious praline chocs contained a fiery chilli centre which would be enough to send the unfortunate eater running for cover!
So by Wednesday we had all psyched ourselves up for the big event. It was going to be me, photographer June Essex and editor Jim Stewart who even brought his real Mexican sombrero to wear for the occasion.

Chillis are very topical for Frosts at the moment, as they gear up for their festival of all things hot which takes place from Saturday.
Over the weekend there will be 20 exhibitors from all over the country, offering tasters and the chance to buy a variety of different chilli products.
As it’s the school holidays the event has a family focus too, and there will be cooking demonstrations and children’s entertainment to keep young and old amused.
And if it all gets a little bit scorching for your taste there is a beer tent and some live music from a Mexican mariachi band - who will no doubt be wearing hats similar to Jim’s in our picture!
James Frost, managing director at Frosts, said: “Each year our chilli festival keeps growing, with more exhibitors, a wider range of chilli plants for customers to buy, plus plenty more entertainment that everyone can enjoy.
“On the day there will also be staff on hand to offer customers expert growing advice plus help with floral displays.”
The spicy event will take place between 10.30am and 4.30pm on each of the days, and entry is free.
And whether you are a spice lover or hater there is sure to be something to whet your appetite at the event!
