VIDEO: Keeping it local at food festival

A taste of Bedfordshire was on the menu this week to showcase all the culinary goodness on offer.

The Love Bedford Love Food Festival took place at the weekend and was a chance for food fans to get their teeth into a number of exciting activities.

On Thursday and Friday there was a local producers market, then on Saturday cooking demonstrations took place in the Harpur Centre.

There was also a chance for visitors to sample a wide range of local restaurants and cafes, with a food trail organised by Taste Real Food Bedford.

Sue Miller, of Taste Real Food Bedford, said: “There are so many lovely producers in this area and if you had come to the market you would have seen all the wonderful produce that is available in Bedfordshire.

“At Taste Real Food Bedford we support producers, but we also support diverse cultures and at the Harpur Suite we had a community cooking event to embrace all the different cultures of Bedford and people could sample their food.

“We love Bedford because of all the different produce and cultures and we
support all of that as a voluntary
organisation.”
