Uni still inundated with clearing calls
25,000 calls taken this week
The University of Bedfordshire is still being inundated with calls to its clearing hotline in a bid to secure a last minute place.
The uni took a staggering 25,000 calls last week, compared to around 10,000 during the same period last year.
On the first day of clearing alone the institution received a staggering 19,000 calls alone.
The competition to get into university has never been tougher following a government cap on places and applications to the university rose 35 per cent by the end of June.
The university is staging open evenings for part-time study at its Bedford campus on Tuesday September 7 and its Luton campus on Thursday September 9 between 4pm and 7pm.
To register your place log onto www.uob.cc/parttime, call 0800 243 5427 or email admissions@beds.ac.uk.
