Unemployment figures please Burt

Unemployment has gone down in North East Bedfordshire, and Alistair Burt, MP for the constituency, this week described the news was encouraging.

Mr Burt said: “I was really pleased to hear that the number of unemployed claimants in September 2012 fell to a rate of 2.9 per cent. This not only shows that the work of the government is having a positive impact on the economy, but also that our constituency is one of the best in the country for employment.

“Set against a total rise in employment throughout the country, I hope this is further good news for Bedfordshire.”
