Bedford to Brighton, Wimbledon and Sutton Thameslink lines are now fully open, First Capital Connect has reported.
Following yesterday’s severe weather and subsequent infrastructure damage, a First Capital Connect spokesman said: “Following yesterday’s severe weather and subsequent infrastructure damage, all necessary repairs have now been made by Network Rail on the Thameslink route which is now fully open.
“However, because of the storm and emergency engineering work, a special train designed to clear the lines of leaves was not able to run between London and Bedford, leading to slippery conditions and delays of approximately 30 minutes this morning (Tuesday).
“We would like to thank our passengers for their patience and advise them that services will continue to return to normal throughout the day. They should check twitter @FirstCC or our website www.firstcapitalconnect.co.ukfor up-to-date travel information and allow extra time for their journeys.”
