A teenager from Stevington has died after she fell ill at Reading Festival.
It is believed 17-year-old Esme Blore suddenly died this week after she returned home early from Reading Festival because she felt unwell.
She was later taken to Nothampton Hospital where she died on Monday.
A police spokesman said: “Northamptonshire Police is investigating the unexplained death of a 17-year-old girl who died at Northampton General Hospital on Monday night.
“The cause of death has not yet been established and we are awaiting the results of a post mortem which will take place this week.
“The investigation into the cause of her death is ongoing and as such we are unable to comment any further.
“Our thoughts are with her friends and family at this sad time.
A Facebook group has been set up in memory of Esme with friends and family paying tribute.
One said: “Esme, what do I even say? I have so many nice memories from when we were younger, and was laughing at all the old photos earlier from when we were toddlers, and swimming lessons with our mums, and our first few birthdays together - it was a pleasure sharing all those things with you. Rest in peace, sending love from my family to yours, everyone is going to miss you so much xxxxx”
Another said: “Esme, To say that you’re going to missed really doesn’t come close to explaining how so many of us feel about you no longer being with us. Although our closest years are now behind us, the memories we have shared will always be in the present.”
