Teacher to take a leap of faith

A teacher is set to jump out of a plane to help raise money to enable her students to take pat in a leadership development course.
Michelle Crook, who is an assistant headteacher at Hastingsbury Business and Enterprise College in Kempston, is preparing to take part in the tandem skydive early next year.
Michelle says she feels so passionately about the value of the one-day course, which will cost nearly £8,000, that he felt she had to fund the course herself.
She said, “As a teacher, I feel very strongly that we should do all that we can to deliver the best possible education, in its widest form, to our students.
“This leadership course can potentially have such a valuable, worthwhile and positive impact on our young people’s personal, social and educational development as well as their leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
“Consequently, I’m more than happy to accept this skydiving challenge knowing that the funds I’ll raise will help finance a learning experience in which all of our Year 9 students can participate.
“I’m so impressed by our youngsters’ enthusiasm and commitment in setting up their own fund raising initiatives and it’s my sincere hope that individuals and organizations, both locally and nationally, will also show their active support for this exciting venture.”
