A MANHUNT has begun following a sexual assault on a woman in Superdrug in Allhallows, Bedford.

Police are appealing for information to help catch the man who groped a 42-year-old woman before paying for his shopping and leaving the store.

The offence happened at around 12.30pm on Thursday 12 January when the victim was shopping in the Superdrug store.

As she was standing in the aisle, the offender bumped into her and then put his left hand around her breast and groped her.

The woman pushed the offender away asking what he was doing before he walked to the counter, paid for some items and left the store.

Police are searching for a man who is described as white, in his mid to late 50s, with light coloured hair. He was wearing a black suede coat, black trousers and rectangular style glasses.

Det Con Emma Dahl who is investigating the offence said: “Bedfordshire Police take sexual offences extremely seriously and we are keen to locate this individual as soon as possible to stop him committing any future crimes.

“I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence or anyone else who may have information – however small or insignificant they think it is – that could help us. Don’t dismiss your information as unimportant – even tiny details which don’t seem relevant now might become useful later on in the investigation.”

If you have information relating to this incident, contact DC Dahl, in confidence, on 01234 275333, call the non emergency number 101. You can also text 07786 200011.
