Twins are all good after national call-ups

Twins Sophie and Nikki Good are hoping to swing all the way to the top,

and they are well on their way following call-ups to the U16s England Rounders team.

The National Rounders Association, who pick teams from the U11 age group up to the senior sides, selected the duo following their impressive performances for Sharnbrook Upper School.

The 15-year-olds impressed at trials on Sunday and jointly received their good news in a letter on Tuesday.

Excited mum Maxine said: "I'm extremely proud. If one of the girls got through it would have been great but for both of them to get through is fantastic."

The Good sisters from The Close, Thurleigh, took up the sport

during their time at Lincroft

Primary School but it wasn't until moving on to Sharnbrook that they really excelled.

Head of Physical Education at Sharnbrook, Debra Jones said:

"Tactically they are much more aware. They understand the game far better and their general skills have developed. Sophie is a great leader and Nikki is the organised one.

"They are both fantastic players and they are integral to our team.

It's good they aren't fighting for the same positions because if they were it could cause a bit more sibling rivalry!

"Sophie is a great fielder with the safest hands around and Nikki's bowling in PE makes the boys' knees shake!"

The twins are now awaiting their information packs which will include their first set of England fixtures.
