Hip high heels and unbelievable Uggs were all the rage in Bedford Park on Sunday morning.
More than 40 men got in touch with their feminine side for the first Walk A Mike In Her Shoes in support of Bedford Daycare Hospice.
Babs Astle, facilities and fundraising manager, said the day was a huge success.
She said: “The mayor Dave Hodgson was there to encourage the men as they teetered their way round the one mile course in their high heels, some taking it a stage further with wigs, dresses, makeup and painted nails.
“A fun time was had by all and between them hope to have raised around £8,000 a truly magnificent sum!
“The Mayor has promised to take part next year so the search for size 10 stilettos is on!”
She thanked all the men, sponsors, volunteers, Wilson Peacock Lettings and The Times and Citizen for their sponsorship.
