Six stunners - 'nuff said
Tinker Jack headline an excellent bill at Esquires
If you like supporting the local music scene, then Esquires is the only place to be on Saturday night. Not only are six of the finest Bedford acts appearing, and not only are they spread over two stages, but it is all in aid of a truly excellent cause.
The gig is a Sid Worth Memorial Tribute Fund Show so suffice to say the night's proceeds will go towards providing support to local bands and performers.
And as the SWMTF troops have exquisite taste, the bill for this show includes half-a-dozen bands who can all be listed under 'Go! favourites'.
Tinker Jack are headliners, and having got our first taste of them for the first time last month the Go! team are already firm fans. Think of something akin to Hope Of The States, but with a more of a classic indie twinge to it and far superior fashion sense.
Also playing on Level 2 are Cherry Lee Mewis - a Welsh songstress with a sound that leans heavily on 1930s and 40s influences, and whose live show can still be checked out on our website if you fancy clicking here - and the smooth soulful sound of Michael Green.
Meanwhile there are three more bands playing downstairs. Valentone, The Pistonz and The Nimblewits need no introduction around these parts.
The gig starts at 8pm. It costs 5 to gain entry upstairs, whereas you can see the downstairs show for free.
