Witnesses are being sought after two festive home thefts were committed in Silsoe.

The first burglary took place in Newbury Lane between 9.30am on Christmas Eve, and 9.15am on Wednesday. Offenders forced open the front door before making off with a laptop.

A second burglary took place sometime between 3pm on Christmas Eve and 10am on Wednesday in West End Road when offenders entered through a small window.

The thieves took a jewellery including two distinctive gold pocket watches. The first had the initials ‘FB’ engraved on the case while the second was engraved with ‘for 25 years’ service – Vauxhall’.

Detective Constable Darren Armitage, who is investigating the two burglaries, is keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious. He would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered any of the items stolen.
