Showhome in village ransacked by burglars - even the dishwasher was taken

Brand new appliances were stolen from a showhome just days before the new owners were due to move in.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary which took place sometime between 4pm on Sunday, February 2 and 11.15am the following morning at the property in Chamberlain Way, Shortstown.

The thieves forced their way into the house and removed an Electrolux oven and hob, an Indesit dishwasher and washer/dryer, a cooker hood and an Ideal boiler.

PC Tracey Litchfield, who is investigating the incident, is keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area during the times stated.

She would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered the goods.
