Robbery bid knifeman threatened woman
Did you see would-be mugger?
A young woman was threatened at knifepoint during an attempted robbery in the Asda car park in Dunstable.
The incident happened at about 10.45pm on Monday, January 25 as the 20-year-old victim sat in her car with a friend.
A man opened the door and demanded money from her, but she told him she didn't have any. He then threatened her with a knife and made a further demand for cash.
When the woman once again told him she was not carrying any cash, the would-be thief ran from the scene towards the Grove Theatre.
She described him as white, aged between 25 and 30, 6ft tall and skinny. He was wearing a blue hooded top, blue jeans and trainers.
Det Sgt Louisa Glynn, investigating, is keen to trace anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area.
She said: "At this time of night, very few people are out and about, but it is possible that other shoppers could have seen someone matching this description or a person acting suspiciously in the area."
Det Sgt Glynn can be contacted at Dunstable Police Station on 01582 473235, text 0778 6200011 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
