THE body of a man who was found in the River Great Ouse on Wednesday has been identified.

James Edwin George Johnson, 55 of Dudley Street, Bedford was found in the river at around 9am.

Bedfordshire’s coroner has opened and adjourned an inquest into the death.

Cause of death is listed as immersion although Mr Johnson also suffered from hypertension.

An inquest will be held in due course.
