Revenue soars for low cost airline
easyJet income increases by more than five per cent despite ash cloud
No frills airline easyJet saw revenue increase by more than five per cent in the last quarter, despite the disruption caused by volcanic ash clouds in April.
Total revenue for the company was 759.2 million despite 65 million being lost after almost 7,500 flights were cancelled affecting nearly a million passengers during the crisis.
The number of passengers who flew with the airline increased by 1.7 per cent, down on an expected increase of 10 per cent before the impact of the volcano.
The company expect to make a pre-tax profit of between 100 million and 150 million for the year.
