Rambo’s back for us on the big screen
ARM wrestling champion Rod ‘Rambo’ Lenette celebrated the release of a documentary about his life with a special Bedford screening on Sunday.
The moving film, entitled I’m Back tells the story of Rod’s battle against lipodystrophy, a condition which means that fat cannot be stored in the body.
Rod’s lipodystrophy has altered his appearance, induced the onset of diabetes and forced him to undergo a gruelling kidney transplant.
Throughout the 30 minute film Rod told how he overcame adversity to become an arm wrestling champion in true Rocky Balboa style.
He said: “The film is about one man’s fight to control his own destiny.
“It was definitely strange seeing myself on the big screen but I can see why Hollywood actors enjoy their jobs.”
The premiere, at Cineworld in the Aspects Retail Park, also served as an opportunity to raise more than £120 for the Addenbrookes Kidney Patients Association.
