editorial image

A new railway footbridge, over the Bedford to Bletchley railway line in Ford End Road could get the go ahead on Monday.

Plans for the bridge, which will form part of the British Railways Depot, will be discussed by Bedford Borough Council’s planning committee, who have been advised to approve the application.

Located on the north bank of the River Great Ouse, it is claimed the bridge would be open to the public and would be fully lit as part of a scheme yet to be decided.

If approved the bridge would be up and running within three years.
