Bedford passengers hoping to get to the city today face further disruption as East Midlands Trains services between Luton and London are cancelled for the rest of the day (Monday).
No East Midlands Trains are services expected to run between Bedford and London St Pancras until tomorrow (Tuesday).
A spokesman for the rail company said: “Passengers are advised not to attempt travel to/from London for rest of day. All other local East Midlands Trains services are running as normal.
“Passengers are advised to check the latest travel information and allow extra time for journeys

East Midlands Trains is advising passengers that it does not expect to operate train services between Bedford and London for the remainder of today following overhead line damage caused by the stormy weather.
Reduced services are operating on several rail networks as some of the most extreme weather for many years has hit southern England.
Network Rail has advised that the line between Luton and London St Pancras will not re-open for the remainder of the day.
Network Rail carried out an examination of the line during which significant damage was discovered to overhead lines in the Radlett area which will have to be repaired before train services can be restored. Several trees were also found to have fallen on the line as a result of strong winds.
East Midlands Trains will not run any trains in or out of London St Pancras International for the rest of the day, with a reduced train service starting and terminating at Bedford. As a result, the train company is advising passengers not to attempt to travel to London until tomorrow (Tuesday).
Other rail operators are also unable to run services in and out of London and no alternative travel is available.
Customers with Advance Purchase tickets dated Monday 28 October may travel on Tuesday 29 October or Wednesday 30 October or are entitled to a refund.
Phil Verster, Route Managing Director for Network Rail, said: “I thank passengers for their patience as our engineers deal with the damage caused by this morning’s storms. We are dealing with this severe weather in exactly the way that we and the train operators planned over the weekend. We have had several hundred staff on duty through the night and into the morning to monitor conditions and react to any damage or disruption caused by hurricane-force winds. Safety remains our top priority.
“Our teams have removed numerous trees and debris from the railway today. Unfortunately external power lines have come down causing a dewirement at Napsbury, north of Radlett. We are working to fix this as quickly as possible though the damage is likely to result in severe disruption to services south of Bedford for the rest of the day.”
A spokesman for East Midlands Trains said: “Network Rail has advised that there is significant overhead line damage in the Radlett area which has been caused by high winds. As a result, no trains are expected to operate in or out of London St Pancras Station for the rest of the day. We are extremely sorry for the disruption this will cause our customers. However, safety is always our absolute priority.
“Like other transport operators, we are continuing to monitor the situation closely and we are working closely with Network Rail to ensure we put the safety of customers and our staff first. We are also advising passengers to take extra care during their journeys, plan ahead by checking the latest travel information and allow extra time to complete their trips.”
