Pupils get their chosen school place
Nearly 100 per cent of children in Central Beds will be going to their chosen upper school this year.
99 per cent of Central Bedfordshire’s children will be going to their chosen upper School, when the new academic year starts in September.
Central Beds Council’s admissions team allocated a total of 2,237 places at schools across the area with almost every single pupil getting a place at their first preference school or academy.
89 per cent of parents and carers, up from 83 per cent last year, applied via our website, taking advantage of our time saving online application facility.
Councillor Mark Versallion, executive member for children’s services, said: “Starting Upper School is an important step on the educational journey for all our young people, so it’s fantastic that 99 per cent of them have got places at the schools they wanted to go to.
“I am confident that with our support, and that of their families and schools, they will be able to achieve their academic potential and obtain great results.”
