Post office sex assault on teen
A TEENAGER was sexually assaulted while queuing in a post office this week.
The incident happened at the Dane Street post office at around 4.15pm on Monday afternoon (February 13).
As the 19-year-old victim was waiting to be served a man in front of her started to talk to her before offering his place in the queue.
As the victim moved ahead of the offender, he then put his arm around her, stroked her hair and then kissed her. The victim then fled the Post Office and reported the incident to work colleagues.
The offender is described as black, in his mid to late 40s, of stocky build, and was wearing a black leather coat and blue jeans.
His victim has told detectives that before the offence took place, the offender had ‘upset’ another woman who was in the queue by “smelling” her hair and trying to kiss her as well.
Detective Constable Alison Whitworth said: “Bedfordshire Police take sexual offences extremely seriously and we are keen to locate this individual as soon as possible to stop him committing any future crimes.
“I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence or anyone else who may have information – however small or insignificant they think it is – that could help us.”
