Dressmakers and crafters can stock up on unusual fabrics this weekend as Bedford hosts another pop-up shop.
Former fashion designer Jo Flannery is holding a one-day fabric sale in an empty shop on the High Street on Saturday, February 8.
Jo, who lives in the Castle Road area, has a long career working in fashion and couture. Since becoming a mother, she set up the online School Of Craft, which sells craft kits for children but follows her love of design by holding fabric sales throughout the year.
She said: “I offer people stuff they can’t usually get in Bedford. I’ve got fabrics from designers such as Echino, from Japan, and Riley Blake and Michael Miller, from America.
“Sewers would normally have to travel to find these sorts of prints, or order stuff online, but I am cheaper than most shops.”
The pop-up shop will be in the former Pizza Hut building, High Street, on Saturday, February 8, from 10am to 2pm.
All the fabrics are either cotton prints, or cotton and linen blend prints. They can be bought by the metre, or in fat quarters for craft projects.
