Police appeal after accident leaving woman seriously injured

Police are appealing for witnesses to an accident in Cardington Road, Bedford, where a woman pedestrian was left seriously injured.

The collision happened on the A603 at a crossing.

Police need to trace anyone who saw the collision between a blue Vauxhall Corsa and a pedestrian at 9.35pm on Tuesday, May 13.

The 64-year-old pedestrian was at the crossing close to the Tesco store at the time of the collision and was taken to hospital for treatment to a broken pelvis.

PC Ewan Wilkinson, investigating, is keen to trace anyone who saw the collision.

PC Wilkinson said: “The woman involved in the collision has suffered life changing injuries and will remain in hospital for between three to six months while she recovers.

“We know that at the time of the collision there was very heavy rainfall and this may spark people’s memories and help them remember what they saw. I would urge anyone with information relating to this collision to come forward and assist with this investigation.”
